Former Vice Minister Dai Dongchang Visits China AOPA for Low-Altitude Economy Research

On June 11, 2024, Dai Dongchang, former Vice Minister of Transport of China, led a research team to the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of China (China AOPA) to study low-altitude economy work. Accompanying him were Gao Bo, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Transport Services of the Ministry of Transport; Fang Hai, Vice President of the Research Institute of Highway of the Ministry of Transport; and Xie Hui, Deputy Director of the China International Sustainable Transportation Innovation and Knowledge Center. Zhang Feng, Chairman of China AOPA, welcomed the visitors and accompanied the full research and discussion session.
At the meeting, Zhang Feng introduced China AOPA’s development and its work in the low-altitude economy. Leaders from the UAV Division, Standards & Safety Quality Department, Information Systems Management Office, and AOPA Capital briefed the group on China’s UAV development, China AOPA group standards, the U-FSC UAV cloud system, and the low-altitude industry fund. Zhang said the association will continue to respond to national policy, serve as a bridge, integrate industry resources, and promote self-regulation to support a strong transportation nation.
Vice Minister Dai listened to the reports, highly praised China AOPA’s efforts, and noted that as a strategic emerging industry, the low-altitude economy now has mature conditions for rapid growth after years of accumulation. He stressed that development should follow principles of integration, innovation, reform, consensus, and coordination—continuously enriching these principles in practice.
Officials from the Vehicle Management Division of the Department of Transport Services, the Road-Air Integration Division and media company of the Research Institute of Highway, Nanhu Transport Research Institute, Fangda Group, and key China AOPA business units also attended.
